WMS PHYSICALS

                                        "ATHLETIC PHYSICAL PACKET"

Intensity HIGH @ Ironduke Two-A-Days!

The Crusader Football squad continues with their two-a-day practices throughout this week. Their focus is clear, the intensity is high. This is a good group and they encourage each other well. It's going to take that kind of a TEAM and the ooaches and players are working hard at that very thing. Opening night is Sept. 1st @ Clearwater... can't wait to see what this group can accomplish. There's some definite toughness there....and there's some PRIDE, on both sides of the fence. Let's get 'er done IRONDUKES!!

Fall Sports Practices Have Commenced!

Fall Sports across the State of Kansas gets underway today, Monday, Aug. 14th! The WHS Volleyball and WHS Football squads got an early start on the day and the season, the former began @ 6:00AM, the latter 6:30AM. Both are holding 2-a-days all week so it won't be long until regular season action across the board gets underway. Also starting this morning at 8:00AM were the 6th-12th grade Cross Country athletes. Nearly 50 of them met behind WMS for 1st day stuff and then headed over towards 9th street for some running.

Wellington Represents at 19th Annual Babe Ruth Classic!

The 19th annual Babe Ruth Classic was held Sunday in Council Grove. This annual event show-cases the best 15 yo Babe Ruth baseball players from around the State of Kansas.

They are divided into two teams, the RED TEAM which features western KS players and the BLUE TEAM which features eastern KS players. This year Wellington not only had “4” young men on the BLUE TEAM, the BLUE TEAM itself was managed by Kerwin Spencer who is a Babe Ruth Board Member.

Unseasonable Temps For Conditioning Tests @ WHS Saturday

It was CONDITIONING TEST time at WHS today for all of the SUMMER PSQ'rs headin' into official Fall football practice come Monday morning at  6:30AM. Most did a great job, some didn't even have to do it because they had perfect attendance all summer long - that pays off two ways - you get in shape because you are there all summer and because you were there, you don't have to prove you got in shape!! :) Life isn't always complicated!!

Crusader Baseball - Younger vs Older (well, kind of)

Some fun baseball action on July 28th at Hibbs-Hooten...some recent grads (mostly 2015) and present Crusader varsity players squared off in a pick-up game if you will - 9 innings of Crusader brotherhood and family...these pics speak to that. It was great to see everyone even though they just graduated 2 years ago!  (They're always in a hurry to get out of high school and then they can't wait to get back) - that is called "normal" and I love it!! CRUSADERS FOR LIFE!

Head West Young Men, Head West...action begins today!

Wellington's 9 yo Cal Ripken All-Stars have a big trip ahead of them this week! After emerging as the runner-up here @ Worden a couple weeks ago in the 9U District Tournament, the Wellington boys secured a spot at the State Cal Ripken 9U Tournament in Garden City this coming weekend and will represent District 1. District 3 (the district Wellington is actually in) will be represented by the District 3 Tournament Champion Winfield.

Wellington 12U Softball Team - 3rd Place Finish @ USSSA Nationals

Wellington's 12U softball squad, (The Rebels) coached by Brady Walker and assistant coaches Jared Brown and Justin Pond, found a lot of success this summer on the USSSA Tournament Trail. The team just returned from the CLASS C USSSA National Championship Tournament in Bixby, OK with 3rd place hardware in tow! Congrats to Coaches Walker, Brown, Pond and this fine group of young ladies.
