Wellington takes 1st in varsity home tennis meet
The varsity tennis squad took first as a team in their first action on the season, a home quad held at 9th Street yesterday afternoon.
Roles are shifting and junior Cruz Cornejo took on the #1 Singles slot after being a doubles player these past two seasons. Cornejo went 3-0 for 1st. The #1 Doubles team of senior Kadynce Aufdengarten and junior Logan Robinson also went 3-0 and took home 1st place medals. The #2 Doubles team of Ellie Hays/Jordan Koehn placed 2nd after their final match of the evening slipped away from them and they finished 2-1 on the day. Senior Addie Hinshaw and rounded out the team in the #2 Singles slot, and she finished in 3rd.
