WHS senior Kaleb Hamilton attended the KSHSAA All-Class State Piano Festival held at Wichita State University on February 22, and for all his hard work getting there, he returns with a "I" rating from the judges!
A neat thing happened at the beginning of this week! Senior Ralph Cornejo, who swam a state consideration time in the 100 Yrd Butterfly at AVCTL Division III/IV League last weekend, learned that his time was good enough to allow him to compete at 5-1A State Swimming starting today held at the Shawnee Mission Aquatic Center in Lenexa! (Diving preliminaries began yesterday)
EIGHT Lady Crusader wrestlers qualified for the STATE tournament this past weekend!
February 15 was a GREAT day for Lady Crusader Wrestling at the McPherson regional! The team continues to make history, doubling the programs previous record for state qualifiers with EIGHT out of ten wrestlers competing at this year’s regional tournament!
Every wrestler won a match and contributed to team points, and Wellington finished in 5th place (just behind host McPherson) out of 30 teams present.

Congrats to new Duke Riddick Jeffries! Riddick was crowned in front of a huge basketball crowd last Friday by Duchess Anna Ewing, and a dance was held at the conclusion of the basketball games to cap off the week's Winter Homecoming celebration at WHS.
This was a great group of candidates and escorts; they were a lot of fun to work with on all the photos over the course of the week.

The student body at WHS had a condensed Spirit Week this week with the cancelation of school on Wednesday, but they still had plenty of creative and inspiring outfits for the remaining theme days!

Tuesday - "Sweater Weather v. Lumberjacks" - Wear a Sweater or Plaid

The WHS Crusaders of The Stage will be performing Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella! This April, don't stay alone in your own little corner in your own little chair; come watch a plain yellow pumpkin become a golden carriage!

The Wellington.cc homecoming Duke candidate formal photo session took place Sunday afternoon with the six senior candidates and their escorts!
Homecoming festivities kick off today with Spirit Week, and on Friday evening, one of these dapper candidates will be crowned Duke and reign alongside Duchess Anna Ewing!
The 2025 candidates and their escorts are Jamar Armstrong (Kyndal Rusk), Cabel Bogguss (Taylor Earl), Rome Hunt (Lila Jones), Riddick Jeffries (Sadie Camblin), Luke Swingle (Anna Ewing), and Brody Weir (Brittan Zeka).

The high school announced the results of the vote for Duke candidates, and as the result of a tie, there will be six young men up for Duke this Winter Homecoming!
