The Andale Indians came to town on September 13th to take on the Crusaders who were coming off of a nail biter at Wichita Collegiate. It was certainly a battle of fire and ice, or I should say Wellington's pass game vs Andale's rushing attack in a high intensity, high scoring, back and forth battle. Dusty Bannister and his receivers were definitely the stars of the night for Wellington. Bannister threw for 480 yards and four touchdowns which breaks his own record for most passing yards in a game that he set last year with 473 yards at Rose Hill. Carter Burnett, Grady Norris, and Jagger Norris all combined for 395 of those yards and all four touchdowns. Dusty added two touchdowns and Nick Giefer added another on the ground as well. Wellington scored fast, maybe too fast at times, where Andale took a more methodical approach marching down the field with their run game. In the end, time was not on Wellington's side and Andale's run game was just too much and the Crusaders fell 56-48.

Andale is a perennial 3A state champion contender and the Crusaders held their own, proving they can play with anyone. Clearwater is next on the schedule and the Dukes will look to get their first win of the 2024 season.
