Fall Sports Practices are underway across Kansas and across Wellington. Will share some pics with you here, taken Tuesday at Cross County, Football and Girls Golf practice. More pics soon featuring Volleyball and Girls Tennis!
Enjoy these memories from 2005-2006 - Parade, Pep Rally and Haircuts on Thursday before Friday's game vs Kingman (and Duchess Coronation.)
Also, later in the same school year, Duke Coronation pics & Homecoming Basketball Game Pics. (Girls were in tournament action that week @ Mulvane)
An early turnover by Wellington, lead to "6" for Buhler with only 39 secs. off the clock. Not the start you would want, but WHS buckled down, the defense played tough. So tough, 22:43 ticked off the clock before Buhler could find paydirt again. The Crusaders took the lead late in the 2nd qtr after Senior Zane Cornejo scrambled for 84 yds, leading to a 1 yd TD run by QB Zander Vargas and a "good" PAT by Karsten Gill. Gill went 10/11 on the season in PAT's - kudos to #40. Buhler would soon retake the lead and not relinquish.
Starting to feel like FALL - not exactly, just yet outside, but just days to go until Varsity Sports kick in for the next 9 months. Thursday evening, the annual Volleyball Gatorade Scrimmage took place at WHS. Nice crowd on hand, some volleyball alums as well! GO LADY CRUSADERS!
A Sub-Varsity football game between Wellington and Winfield (Freshmen / Sophomores) played out at Sellers Park Monday evening. A bigger Winfield team dominated the first half. Final score pending.
