You remember Feb. 19th when Senior Rayce Koerner sunk a trey towards the end of the Mulvane game here at home. It was a glorious shot and nearly the end to Rayce's usual job as team manager. Coach Newman suited Rayce up that night, the last home game of the season and it turned out to be a tremendous memory maker for all that were present.

Tough start for the Crusaders who move to 0-2 on the young season, falling to Goddard @ Goddard, 0-10 and 4-12 Thursday evening.
In the opener, Wellington fell behind early and couldn't mount a comeback through 6 innings of play. A single by Senior Greg Holcomb in the second inning failed to ignite the boys in red. Goddard's Shope would take the win, pitching 5 innings, allowing 2 hits and 0 runs while striking out 7 and walking 4. Hamilton threw 1 inning in relief.
Over the weekend, the Crusader Baseball Team hosted a group of WHS baseball alums Saturday afternoon. We are sharing pics with you now as I speak. It was a beautiful day at Hibbs-Hooten field and it was fantastic to see the Crusaders out on the field, the first time in almost 2 years because of COVID.
The Youth Baseball Camps concluded today at 9th St. Diamond. Curtailed by the weather on Thursday, Mother Nature said enough of that and gave these young kids and their high school mentors and coaches a chance to "shine" on Friday.
