The WMS 7/8 Basketball Knights were up bright and early Saturday for quarterfinal action at this season's PIONEER LEAGUE TOURNAMENT being held in Clearwater. When the dust all settled on the day, the 7th graders advanced to the semi's with a 37-24 victory over host Clearwater, the 8th graders would call it a season, falling to Winfield 58-28.

In subsequent semi-final action for the 7th graders, the Knights would fall to El Dorado, 39-33, ending what had been a somewhat successful season overall. This was the two squads 3rd meeting this year with very consistent outcomes at all 3. In December, El Dorado defeated Wellington 35-30, in January 40-35, and then on Saturday 39-33. The two teams are closely matched, the young Wildcats just have the edge, FOR NOW.
