The  Crusader Boys 2017-2018 basketball season ended at Ark City Friday evening. The crowd was large, 4/5ths Bulldog. The boys in red stayed with the home team for a short while but the lead widened to 15 by halftime and 20 by 3rd qtrs. end. Ark City sealed the deal with authority down that final stretch, outscoring the Crusaders 16-5. Final Score WHS 34 ACHS 65

SIDE NOTE: The Lady Crusaders will make their bid for the State Tournament this evening (Saturday) @ 6PM vs host Ark City Lady Bulldogs. No doubt the crowd will be donning a lot of purple with Sub-State games being played on the Bulldogs home court. Wellington is the #1 seed on the girls side of things but Ark City will present a tremendous challenge. A Lady Crusader victory will return the WHS Girls to the 4A State Tournament for the 3rd consecutive year. GO BIG RED!!

SIDE NOTE 2: Seniors A.J. Snipes and Ian King left their marks on the scoring records at WHS. In the Career Scoring category, it's (1) Darin Miller with 1401, (2) A.J Snipes 1193 and (3) Ian King 1104. Congratulations to both A.J. and Ian for their respective scoring achievements! Also, congratulations to Ian for securing the WHS Career Rebounding record with 707, surpassing Darin Miller who had 690. That is awesome Crusader!!
