The Senior Babe Ruth WELLINGTON DUKES team jumped out on the MISSOURI TROPICS in the opening pool play game Thursday at Charleston, MO at the 16-18 Midwest Plains Regional and lead 3-1 in the 3rd. A big 4th and 6th innings by the TROPICS however, would seal the deal for the Missouri State Champion. Final score Wellington 4 Missouri Tropics 14 (6 innings - run rule). Pool Play continues Friday with the DUKES going up against the BORDER, CO team at 11AM. Pool Play concludes on Saturday. The TOP 2 seeds in each of the 2 divisions in the tourney will advance to single elimination championship play on Sunday. The REGIONAL winner will advance to the WORLD SERIES in Mobile Alabama, in early August. The DUKES are coached by Jeff Frazee and Jayson Fairbanks.
