The Wellington Middle School Boys Tennis Team hosted Winfield Monday. The Knights defeated Winfield by a team score of 11 matches to 4. Great job, guys! Individual winners were: Keaton Hartman, Colten Henning, Hudson Lawrence, Hunter Worley, Nate Farmer, Lane Herrington, Phillip Starnes, Kayden Martin and Ryan Bacon.
WMS Leadership students and their sponsors, shopped at Wal*Mart on Sunday for a fellow "Knight" and "Lady Knight", both participants of the Angel Tree program. Big smiles on their faces as they spent quite a bit of time picking out some pretty cool stuff! It's great to see students caring about others as members of the leadership group do on a regular basis. Great Job!!
The WMS 7/8 Girls Tennis team wrapped up "HOME" play Thursday at the 9th St. Courts vs Ark City Middle School - The Lady Knights dominated Ark City winning 11 matches against 2 losses. Way to finish strong, ladies! Best of luck at the league tournament on Tuesday. Individual winners yesterday were: Kami Reichenberger, Jensen Lynnes, Crystal Ramirez, Emma Stover, Aubree Mason, Alyra Koerner, Lyric Cornejo, Kendall Janzen and Aubrey Hunt.
The top 6 players of the Wellington Middle School Girls Tennis Team participated in the 10-team Goddard Invitational Wednesday. Team results are pending, individual results are as follows:
#1 Doubles: Kami Reichenberger and Jensen Lynnes - 1st place
#1 Singles: Emma Stover went 2-2
#2 Doubles: Crystal Ramirez and Lyric Cornejo - 2nd place
#2 Singles: Aubree Mason played tough all day in her first invitational experience.
Congratulations to WMS 7/8 Boys Tennis Coach Terri Driskell and the Knights - the young men wrapped up their Spring 2019 season at the Patriot League Tournament in Ark City Monday with a 3rd place team finish! Great Job! They fared well individually too - here are those results!
