It appears the alumni have outdone themselves again this year in their showing at the WHS Volleyball Gatorade Alumni Scrimmage.  At least 16 former Lady Crusaders spanning graduating classes from 1998 to 2023 dusted off their A-game to give some competition to the Mandy (Zeka) Ramos-helmed 2023 Crusader Volleyball Team (Coach Ramos is herself a Class of 2006 WHS graduate).  Last year, the alumni team's "most veteran" participant was a 2002 grad.

The annual event was held yesterday evening in the main WHS gymnasium, and spectators could attend for free but were encouraged to donate packages of water and gatorade to the team so they can be hydrated during the season's many tournament weekends, especially.  The scrimmage gives a preview of the current roster and gives an opportunity for the team to gather some supplies, but this has also become a fun sort of reunion with former teammates on the court and former coaches and fellow classmates in the stands.  It's also very much a family affair with, dare I say, DYNASTIC combinations of athletic siblings, mothers/daughters, and aunts and nieces of iconic Lady Crusaders on the court for the night.
