The IRONDUKES Win Again!

After savoring their season opening win all week against Clearwater, the IRONDUKES had to put those memories aside and take care of business against the visiting (0-1) El Dorado Wildcats at Sellers Park on Friday evening. The task at hand wouldn't seem as easy as Week #1 but it was doable and the IRONDUKES did it. 

Meet Your 2017 WHS Girls Golf Team - A First!

Some sports history this Fall at WHS - a GIRLS GOLF TEAM! With the popularity of golf for both boys and girls at the middle school level and the introduction of their golf program 3 years ago or so, the high school team was started this year with 5 members (4 freshmen and 1 sophomore) with more "Lady Knight Golfers" in the pipeline. Exciting stuff! GO BIG RED!

Varsity/JV Volleyball SWEEP @ Mulvane Triangular!

The Lady Crusader Volleyball Teams (Varsity and JV) swept both Mulvane and Clearwater Tuesday evening at Mulvane in triangular action with Clearwater!

2017 WHS Cross Country Team

Varsity Girls Finish 1st @ 9th Street - Again!

Varsity girls tennis team won it's second straight meet with 34 team points.

#1 Singles Jacelyn Buck took 1st place and played well, best win was over Roe from Kingman who finished 11th at 3A state last season.  She was down 3-4 and came back to win 6-4.  She went 4-0 on the day to win her second straight tournament.

#1 Doubles Avery Rusk and Rylee Rusk went 4-0 and only gave up 2 games on the day.  

"9" bring home the hardware from Valley Center Tuesday

The 2017 WMS and WHS Cross Country teams opened their season(s) on the road Tuesday at Valley Center. "7" HS and "2" MS runners received medals. Next action will be here at HOME this Saturday out at Hargis Creek Watershed. MS races begin at 8AM, HS races @ 9:30AM. All races will start and end "down in the valley" behind KFC. Between 500-600 runners will be on hand from well over a dozen schools. Always a great event! Fans are reminded not to park in the perimeter businesses near the watershed.

Freshman Payton Ginter Finishes 8th @ Sierra Hills Tuesday

The WHS Varsity Girls Golf Squad was in action Tuesday at Sierra Hills Golf Course against some larger schools and tougher competition. As a team WHS finished 9th out of 10 and Payton Ginter, a WHS Freshman, finished 8th individually which is quite good!! Some of the other schools in competition included Andover Central, Andale, Buhler, Eisenhower, Maize, Valley Center and others. Here were the individual scores for WHS: (is a par 3 course, par was 58)

WHS FR/SO's Down Clearwater 22-8

The FR/SO Football Team got their season underway Monday evening down at Sellers Park. After a big VARSITY WIN Friday at Clearwater (34-6), it was the younger Crusaders turn and they took care of business too, winning 22-8. The temps were in the mid 90's when the game got underway at 6pm...Wellington took the lead early on and held it throughout.
