"FOOLS" by Neil Simon - last performance @ 2PM today!

I was privileged Thursday evening to sit in on a full dress rehearsal for the WHS Drama Department's upcoming Neil Simon production - "FOOLS". The Fall 2017 offering under the direction of first year Drama Instructor Jessica Coldwell is just absolutely superb. The stage setup, the costumes, the make-up, the sound, the special effects, the lighting, the stage crew and of course the actors and actresses nail it!

"MUM'S" the word!

Four of the boys from the Horticulture class planted mums in the raised bed that was built by the Advanced Ag Welding students last year.  On one side the bed says Horticulture and the other side reads WHS with two Crusader heads on it.  The fall mums will help to brighten up the building as you come in.  The other students in the horticulture class were busy pulling weeds and getting the greenhouse ready for the spring.

Payton Ginter Advances to STATE 4A Golf Tourney!

WHS's pioneering Girls Golf team headed to Hays on Monday for Regional 4A action. The weather wasn't very golf-like for sure, cloudy, winds gusting to 35mph and cool temps in the low 50's - not good golfing weather at all. Wellington Freshman Payton Ginter buckled down though and shot a 109, a score that would place her in 12th out of about 50 participants and would advance her on to the State 4A Girls Golf Tournament in Topeka coming up on Monday, Oct. 16th.

Knights Finish Well @ Pioneer League Cross Country

The WMS runners had a good showing Tuesday, coming in 2nd place, missing the League Title by just 1 point! Winfield ran both Div. IV (us) and Div. III (other teams) together in each race and it was Hard to determine  where we were in the race with another division on the field.

7th Grader Jax Cornejo placed 7th on the ALL Time Best Top 10  list. We came home with 8  Personal  Records, 5 individual medals and second place team medals for the 7th grade boys.
