It was a SPLIT at Winfield Tuesday evening, the WELLINGTON CRUSADERS won 3, WINFIELD the same. The Lady Crusaders were back in action following a 3 game hiatus due to health restrictions. Both Varsity squads leave 2020 and enter 2021 with more "W's" than not. Tanner Meyer lit it up for 29, Airalyn Frame for 19. The JV Boys have won 3 of their last 4. Deitrek Gill 21 pts!The "C" Team boys took the Vikings to OT. Landyn Glenn 22 pts! Some good basketball was played, I'm excited for post-break action! Check out the scoring:
An exciting run by the Lady Crusaders, at Saturday's 4A Sub-State tournament held here at WHS. In the semi-final rounds, it was Clearwater over Winfield and Wellington over Mulvane, both matches, 2 set matches. The "2" advanced to the Championship Final and what a first set in the final, it was. Back and forth, and unfortunately a 26-28 victory for the visiting Lady Indians. The "mo" slipped a bit and Clearwater wrapped it all up in 2 sets, with a 25-12 victory in the latter.
Our Lady Crusaders hosted COLLEGIATE Tuesday evening after previously scheduled to play at Winfield. (Covid related cancellation) Here are the results and pics from both Jr. Varsity and Varsity action.

Our Lady Crusader Varsity Volleyball squad went 2-1 Saturday at the Winfield HS, 8 team, early bird tournament, downing Ark City and Winfield, and losing to Mulvane in "3" sets with an exciting finish it appears. (I say appears, due to Covid related guidelines, Winfield officials did not allow fans or media to view Saturday's action). The Lady Crusaders will have a chance at quick redemption vs Mulvane, they'll be road-tripping there on Tuesday, Sep. 1st. Participants will have "3" tickets each for their family or fans to use. (to purchase admission tickets with).
