VARSITY TENNIS RESULTS - 8/30

Varsity Tennis had their first competition of the season with a quad hosted at our 9th Street tennis courts.  The team finished third with 15 points behind Goddard Eisenhower (18 points) and Buhler (24 points).  Coach Aufdengarten’s report:

Wellington was led by both of its doubles teams who both finished in second place.  Jensen Lynnes and Lyric Cornejo lost their final match to a very tough Buhler team in a tiebreak after winning their first two matches.  Kyra Cornejo and Heidi Gulick also went 2-1 on the day, losing their very first match 6-8 to Goddard Eisenhower. Probably playing in the toughest spot was Kami Reichenberger playing in the number one singles position against three other state players from last season. Kami went 1-2 with her [win] over Osner from Conway Springs.  Playing in the number two singles position was Jordyn Brown who also went 1-2 beating the Conway Springs player. Brown had a really close match losing 6–8 to the eventual champion from Goddard Eisenhower.
