The KU Honors Banquet, formerly held at WHS for all Sumner County schools each Fall, moved to Wichita North HS this year. The event is sponsored annually by the KU Alumni Association and honors the TOP 10% from area schools. Pictured are the Wellington Seniors that were in attendance at the event Thursday evening in Wichita. Congratulations Crusaders on your academic successes at WHS - way to represent!
WHS Youth Entrepreneurs had the opportunity to run their own pop up businesses during lunch on Wednesday. They worked in groups and planned and operated their own business..
Throughout the project, students performed market research to determine what they would sell, figured start-up and operating costs, and determined a break-even point.
This Fall at WMS, something occurred that really doesn't occur very often so it is worthy of mention! It's a very notable year when anyone makes the All-Time Top 10 List at anything. Between early September and early October this Fall, three young Knights, (a 6th grader and "2" 7th graders), all made the WMS 7th Gr Boys Cross Country All-Time TOP 10 List..."3" boys in "ONE" season, on a list that has existed since 1991! That's pretty spectacular!
On Saturday Nov. 4, several Wellington students auditioned for the Kansas Music Educators South Central District Honor Band.
WHS Senior Marisa Black was selected to be a member of this group. Of the approximately 50 flute students who auditioned, she placed third chair out of 12 that were eventually selected. This is her second year to be chosen for this honor, and she is now eligible to audition for the State Honor Band. Last year Marisa was also selected for this group.
AVCTL DIV III and DIV IV League Honors were announced late Monday. Congratulations to WHS "3" Seniors, Keelie Cunningham (FIRST TEAM), Jenna Rausch (FIRST TEAM) and Shayland French (SECOND TEAM)!

The Fall 2017 middle school sports teams as well as the leadership team were honored today in an early morning assembly at WMS. Cross Country, Volleyball, Girls Tennis, Football and the Leadership Students took to the stage as season highlights from their coaches were shared, certificates and letters were distributed. Congratulations to all of the participants - there was a large number and all were encouraged to continue on next season as well!
Congratulations to the WMS 8th Grade SCHOLARS BOWL TEAM! The Knights were in Newton Thursday and went UNDEFEATED, topping host Newton, Augusta, Mulvane and Salina South. How awesome is that?
