Girls Golf to add LEAGUE CHAMPS banner to records in WHS gym

The team added the detail to their uniform this year to honor the late Steve Sturgis who would have been their biggest community cheerleader throughout this historic golf season. On Tuesday, the Lady Crusaders competed at the AVCTL Division III & IV Tournament at Hesston and took the LEAGUE TITLE! Several members of the team played their best ever games on this day, and every golfer for Wellington individually placed in the TOP 10 for Division IV! This is fantastic!!

The girls smashed their previous record for best team score (352) in a tournament, shooting a combined 330 and besting second place Winfield by 22 strokes!!
Coach Sawyer said, "The best thing about watching these girls this season is each tournament someone else has stepped up to lead the way. It’s been a complete team effort. And there’s nothing that’s going to make coaches happier than athletes starting to PR as they enter post-season play."
The Lady Crusaders advance to Regionals on October 10 at Turkey Creek in McPherson.
