A great battle ensued in the opener, Wellington jumped out early with a 4-0 lead after 1 and held on. Error free baseball has its rewards! Both Schoemann and then Cade Phelps in relief, kept things manageable, striking out 11 between them and just 2 ER's total. Both Matt Rinehart and Grey Hatfield went 2/4 at the plate, all singles.
