With the Newton Invitational held Thursday, December 1, the inaugural boys season of WHS swimming has officially begun!

Wellington is making use of the cooperative agreement with Winfield High School started by senior swimmer Jensen Lynnes three years ago when she was a freshman. Joining Jensen as a WHS Swim Team member are sophomores Ralph Cornejo and Rome Hunt! They have been commuting to Winfield to join their team’s practices and compete under the Winfield Vikings banner during the regular season.

The wrestling season kicked off for the boys and girls at a double-dual hosted by Mulvane.  The Crusaders vied against Mulvane and McPherson, and the student athletes brought along a yearbook camera to document the meet!  Thanks to Conner Walker, Cabel Bogguss, and Deighlynn Lea for the great photos!

WHS Girls Golf made their first team visit in program history to the 4A State Tournament on October 17-18.  After dominating many of the regular season tournaments and taking 1st at League and Regionals for a total of 7 tournament wins on the season, the team traveled to Emporia for the final show.  Coach Ginter reports:

Our ladies were very excited and nervous about state as it was the first time in our program's history that we had qualified as a team.
