Varsity golfers finish one stroke out of 1st place at Hesston
Coach Ginter reports that the varsity golf team had a great day today at Hesston Golf Course. Senior Deitrek Gill finished first overall, scoring a one-under-par 70. Of Deitrek's win, Ginter said, "On his last hole of the day, Gill carded a walk-off eagle to best his opponent from Maize South by one stroke securing the victory." This is Gill's second 1st place finish on the season. Senior Laken Smith shot a personal best 74 to secure 4th place, individually. Senior Brett Wyckoff tied his PR of 78 to finish 10th. Freshman Owen Farley also PRed with an 82 for 20th place. Rounding out the team at Hesston were Caden Lawrence (12) with a 90, RJ Clift (12) with a 91, and Kaeden Gill (10) finishing with a 92.
Varsity Golf returns to the links Tuesday, May 3, at the Buhler 36-hole invitational.
