The Wellington Crusaders made the long trip to Altamont to take on the Labette County Grizzlies on September 27th. It was all Crusaders the whole way to a 43-6 blowout. The Big Red Passing Machine was still on all cylinders with Dusty Bannister throwing for three of his four touchdowns in the first two quarters, two to Carter Burnett and one to Grady Norris. The defense was active as well, allowing zero points and Grady Norris returning an interception for another touchdown in a 26-0 first half.

To begin the third quarter, Bannister threw a 65 yard pass to Carter Burnett for his fourth touchdown of the game, Carter's third. The offense appeared to take it's foot off the gas to burn time off of the clock as they wouldn't score another offensive touchdown for the remainder of the game. Axl Norris couldn't let his brother have all of the fun and returned an interception of his own for a touchdown. Skyler Branam showed off a strong leg, nailing a 33 yard field goal to make the lead 43-0. The Grizzlies were determined not to get skunked and finally ripped off a 82 yard touchdown run to score their lone points of the game.

Dusty Bannister finished the game with 253 yards, 4 touchdowns, and an interception on 12 of 16 passes. Dusty's favorite big play target, Carter Burnett finished with 122 yards and 3 touchdowns on 5 catches. The Crusader defense was dominating only allowing 6 points and returning two interceptions for touchdowns. The Crusaders improve to 2-2 on the season and will look to extend their winning streak at Augusta on October 4th.
