Wellington 12U Softball Team - 3rd Place Finish @ USSSA Nationals
Wellington's 12U softball squad, (The Rebels) coached by Brady Walker and assistant coaches Jared Brown and Justin Pond, found a lot of success this summer on the USSSA Tournament Trail. The team just returned from the CLASS C USSSA National Championship Tournament in Bixby, OK with 3rd place hardware in tow! Congrats to Coaches Walker, Brown, Pond and this fine group of young ladies.
Rebel team members include: Airalyn Frame, Shiney Hughes, Jordyn Brown, Josie Walker, Kasiah Richmond, Heidi Gulick, Macey Pond, Alyssa Bridges, Kate Haines, Brecken Whitney and Jaycee Heater.
The Wellington squad was the Class C West Kansas State Champions this summer with an overall record of 43-10 which included "4" tournament titles and "2" 2nd place finishes!
Coach Walker shared that, "this is a special group of kids and it was one heck of a season. We had highs and lows and everything in between but at the end of the day we found a way to win games. Lots of dramatic comebacks, including a six run rally in Championship game at State to win in a walk off. Just proud as coach...simple as that."
Coach Walker added, "Jared Brown and Justin Pond were my assistant coaches - couldn't have done it without them!"
Congratulations! Way to represent!!
