Basketball Camps at both WHS and WMS continue this week. HS & MS boys along with coaching staff for both have been meeting daily through Wednesday this week. Congratulations to our WMS 8th Grade Lady Knights - a group of young ladies that have lost only "2" games over the past "2" years...awesome, even more awesome - after splitting with Clearwater during regular season, the Lady Knights got down to business tonight at Rose Hill HS and in the 2019 PATRIOT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, the Lady Knights WON 36-21 and are now the League Tournament Champs!! Congratulations to Coaches Kelsey Whaley and J' Lynn Ledesma and the Lady Knights!! Wellington is proud of you!!
The WMS 7/8 Boys and Girls basketball squads were in Patriot League Tournament action today, at Haysville West (Boys) and Rose Hill High (Girls)..congrats to the 8th Gr Lady Knights who downed Prairie Hills and advanced to the Championship game slated for this Thursday at 6PM vs Clearwater (@ Rose Hill HS). The regular season concluded for the WMS 7/8 girls and boys basketball teams Monday vs HWMS - tournament action will get underway this Saturday, the boys will be at Haysville West, the girls at Rose Hill MS. Bracketing won't be known until Friday - a couple or so league teams are making up the games missed last Thursday due to the ice, moving their regular season play back a few days. Both our 8A Boys and 8A Girls are 11-1.

Wellington Middle School held a Pep Assembly Monday afternoon - to give their two Lady Knight basketball teams a big sendoff as both the 7th and 8th grade girls play for the PIONEER LEAGUE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP later this afternoon and evening at Mulvane MS. Both have already secured the regular season PIONEER LEAGUE TITLE - it's time to complete the package!!
Winter sports are underway, well at least at the middle school! Both the girls and boys 7/8 A&B teams had their season openers last night (Thursday), the boys hosted HAYSVILLE WEST MS here at WMS in both gyms and the girls traveled to HAYSVILLE WEST for some road action.
Overall, a good night for the KNIGHTS and LADY KNIGHTS – the former SPLIT, winning 2 and losing 2 but the latter (the ladies!) swept Haysville West (on the road), coming home with 4 wins and no losses – great start to the season!

The WMS Lady Knights have worn out a few brooms already this season and there's still "5" regular season games to go for the 7A & 7B & 8A & 8B squads, who Monday SWEPT their opponent (Mulvane), the 5th SWEEP this season by the girls in red. 11/30 vs Haysville West - SWEEP // 12/11 vs Ark City - SWEEP // 12/14 vs Clearwater - SWEEP // 1/4 vs Winfield - SWEEP and now Mulvane. Great Job Ladies!
