The Varsity Crusader Boys Golf Team did great things today at Hesston, In a 15 team invite, the Crusaders had 14 teams finish behind them! A.K.A. 1ST PLACE! Awesome!

WHS Senior Blake Bales signed to play Golf @ Coffeyville, Tuesday afternoon out at WHS! Present for the signing were Blake's parents, Mark and Christy Bales, his sister Lauren, Head Golf Coach James Ginter and WHS AD and former Asst. Golf Coach Luke Smith.

Action gets underway VERY SOON for the WHS Boys Golf Squad - team and individual pics were taken WEDNESDAY. This year's team consists of "4" Seniors (Ty Wilson, Blake Bales, Jaylen Harris and Hayden Baker), "2" Sophomores (True DeJarnett and Rylan Blasi) and "3" Freshmen (Jace Lawrence, Blake Saffell and Langdon Lack). Day 2 results -  Ian Groom (195) and Matt McComb (220), after going 1-1 in Friday action, each suffered their 2nd and final loss this morning at the State 4A Tournament at Tony's Pizza Events Center, formerly the Bicentennial Center.

After 276 matches, involving 15 4A schools, at the 4A Wrestling Regional held at Ark City HS, tickets were punched for the State 4A Tournament in Salina next weekend and "3" Crusaders are on their way! As a team, Wellington finished 7th (75.0) out of 15 Teams. Arkansas City placed first (264.5), Andover Central second (165.5), and Pratt third (128.0).

Congratulations to SENIOR IAN GROOM (195 lbs) for his 2nd place finish. Ian is 35-7 on the season and this will be his 2nd consecutive trip to the State Tournament.
