WHS Juniors Take The ABILENE TOUR!

The WHS Junior Class took a couple buses on Wednesday to Abilene, KS for one of their annual trips down history lane. Abilene is an extraordinary visit and of course the hometown of the 34th President of the United States. (Eisenhower was actually born in Texas but raised in Abilene) The students spent time at the Eisenhower Library and Museum, which offers a complete layout of President Eisenhower's life and career, including his boyhood home.

WHS Students Explore Career Day @ Davis-Moore!

WHS students Bryce Gilbreth, Alisha Waters and Mason Sparks attended the Technical Career Day at Davis-Moore in Wichita this past Saturday. There were several post-secondary institutions represented which allowed the students opportunities to explore training options. In addition, they were able to network with master technicians and see some demonstrations in the service area of Davis- Moore.

FFA Students Tour CARGILL INNOVATIONS CENTER!

Several WHS FFA students toured Cargill Innovations Center on Wednesday, March 14th,  and had the opportunity to speak with industry professionals that work for Cargill.  The students discussed with these industry leaders, ways to develop plans on how to feed the world with growing populations and fewer resources and also, how they can shape the future of agriculture itself. During the session, WHS FFA Senior Malachi Tidwell addressed 300 students and the industry leaders about the importance of Agriculture and the FFA!

McCorkle, Probst and Harris Medal @ 4A State Powerlifting!

Our WHS Powerlifting Team, coached by Ross Foley and Zane Aguilar, were in competition Saturday at the 4A State Powerlifting Tournament held at Clay Center HS. 

Congratulations to Jr. Brooke McCorkle who placed 2nd in Clean with 175 lbs., 2nd in Bench with 200 lbs., and 2nd Place overall with 630 lbs. Brooke, temporarily broke the State bench record, until it was bettered by Clay Center Senior Carley Hartner by 5 lbs. at 205. The old record was 195 lbs. set in 2015 by Ashley Murphy of Chapman.
