Proud to announce that WHS 2019 Senior Brayden Higginbotham has signed to play baseball this coming school year at Southwestern College in Winfield.
The 2019 WMS Football Camp for incoming 7th & 8th graders got underway Wednesday out at WHS. A good sized group on hand along with coaches from both WHS and WMS. Also assisting Senior Irondukes Zander Vargas, Jake Soria, and Quentin Redford. The camp concluded on Thursday.
The 2019 WHS Developmental Football Camp for 1st thru 6th graders got underway Monday evening and will conclude on Tuesday. Wednesday, the incoming 7th/8th graders will have their Camp. Both are put on by the HS Football Staff (Coaches Zane Aguilar, Ryan Elder, Nick Wellington and HS Football Players. A large group on hand Monday evening - more pics on Wednesday!!
Saturday was the 29th running of the GREAT RACE RELAY. The relay itself began back in the late 70's but there were no races ran 1987 to 2001.
Congratulations to this year's winners, the DORE ENCHIES!! This was the ENCHIES 2nd consecutive win and their time this year (44.58) was just 10 seconds shy of last year's time 44.48) The Manila Gorillas came in 2nd and Security State Bank 3rd. (these two teams swapped positions from 2018!)

The WHS Football Seniors had a huge feast Thursday evening, at the home of Zach Barker, former Crusader football standout, and compliments of their coaches. The team has been in training since early June and High Intensity Training will kick in on Monday and run through Aug. 8th. (Boot Camp)
This Senior group is tight-knit and have been a solid group for a long time. They are excited and pumped about the upcoming season - heck, so am I!
The Wellington Dukes pulled out a convincing 19-9 victory today over North Dakota at the 2019 BABE RUTH MIDWEST PLAINS REGIONAL in Charleston, MO. The DUKES had 14 hits, walked 15 times and left 9 stranded. The winning pitcher was John Long.
