Varsity golfers finish one stroke out of 1st place at Hesston

Coach Ginter reports that the varsity golf team had a great day today at Hesston Golf Course.  Senior Deitrek Gill finished first overall, scoring a one-under-par 70.  Of Deitrek's win, Ginter said, "On his last hole of the day, Gill carded a walk-off eagle to best his opponent from Maize South by one stroke securing the victory."  This is Gill's second 1st place finish on the season.  Senior Laken Smith shot a personal best 74 to secure 4th place, individually.  Senior Brett Wyckoff tied his PR of 78 to finish 10th.  Freshman Owen Farley also PRed with an 82 for 20th place.  Rounding out t

Lynnes and the Vikings on a roll

Swimmer Jensen Lynnes and the Winfield Vikings kept the good times rolling at their Campus meet yesterday! For the fifth time this season, the team won the meet! Jensen placed 6th in her 50 Free and 7th in the 100 Back. Her 200 Free relay team placed 1st and the 400 Free relay team placed 2nd! Next up for Jensen is League on May 14 at Andover and then on to the State Swim Meet at Lenexa!  Lynnes will be wearing her Crusader cap at League and State!  Wishing our sole Swim Team member all the best - GO JENSEN!

CTE Showcase returns to WHS!

Wellington High School hosted the 10th "annual" Career & Technical Education (CTE) Showcase tonight after a two-year COVID-19 hiatus.  It was great to see it back in its glory, full of a plethora of displays of classwork and proud students to talk about it!  Student interns were present to speak about their experiences in the work force, gallery boards and tables were full of student artwork, the agriculture/horticulture classes had many plants for sale in the greenhouse, culinary students served canapés and other hors d'oeuvres, graphic arts and web design work were posted, and other s
