The #8 seed Lady Crusaders finished up the Wildcat Classic at Haven HS on Saturday. After a huge upset win on Thursday vs the host and #1 seed Lady Wildcats (49-46), the girls in red lost that "mo", falling to #5 seed Cheney on Friday (53-29) and then coming up short vs #3 seed Kingman on Saturday, (57-40). Still a 4th place finish in a field of 8 so nothing to hang your head about there. Cheney's full court press, (same press that gave the Lady Crusaders difficulties back on Dec. 7th at WHS), was again too much for the girls in red.
One-Act plays are similar to a short story. There is a complete drama within one act. It is brief, condensed, and single in effect. One situation or episode is presented, permitting no minor plots or side actions that may distract attention for the single purpose and effect being developed. Characters are few in number, quickly introduced, and very limited in character development. Dialogue and Plot must carry the action forward smoothly and quickly.
As the Lady Crusaders are engaged in their mid-season tournament at Haven, the WHS Boys were in action Friday evening at Winfield HS.
The JV Boys found success with a convincing 53-34 victory, the Varsity Boys however, fell to 4-8 on the season, coming up short 48-63 vs the Vikings. Here's how the scoring broke down:

Friday didn't go near as well as Thursday at the 45th annual Haven Wildcat Classic at Haven HS. After a stunning upset vs the host and #1 seed on Thursday (49-46), the #8 seed Lady Crusaders squared off Friday in the semi-final game against #5 seed Cheney, a team that had handled the Lady Crusaders quite well (39-65) 6 weeks ago in the Cheney Invitational (game actually played at WHS) Unfortunately, Cheney was able to repeat that performance Friday at Haven, final score 59-23.
Tuesday evening was the Wrestling Seniors last opportunity to wrestle on their home mat. The Seniors and their parents were recognized and honored before the dual with Newkirk began. Seniors included Blake Bales, Ian Groom, Jaylen Harris, Kadin Heacock, Logan Jones, Matt McComb, Austin Sears, Andrew Wolf and Manager Zoey Maxwell.
Congratulations to the 8A Lady Knights!! These (11-0 overall), (10-0 league) 8th grade girls sealed the deal Monday evening at WMS vs El Dorado - final score WMS - 47 EMS - 30
