Varsity Golfers Bring Home the GOLD - Again!
WHS Varsity Boys Golf WINS @ Hesston today!
Coach Ginter shares his thoughts on the day…
“Today was another very successful day for the WHS men’s golf team. WHS golfers were able to capture first place at the Hesston invitational! All 6 WHS golfers played extremely well today, placing 6 in the top 14 places in the tournament. Today’s effort was led by Blake Saffell and Dietrich Gill, both who shot one under par 70s, tying four top medalists. Blake and Dietrich then proceeded to play a sudden death playoff for top medalist. The playoff lasted two holes and was won by Blake with a par on the second hole. Other contributors included Laken Smith who had a PR today (79), playing his best golf of the year. The force contributing score was Peyton linker with an 81. Also placing in the top 15, both with 82’s were Jace Lawrence and Brett Wyckoff. The team score of 300 was the best team score since the early 2000s. WHS golfers are playing their best as we near the playoff portion of our season. We finish our regular season with the tournament on Friday, and tournaments on Tuesday and Thursday next week. Then league, regionals and state. Proud of these boys and our effort today”.
