Wellington was back in action at the 9th Street courts yesterday evening for their second home varsity meet in as many weeks, and once again, the Lady Crusaders won the quad.  Coaches Aufdengarten and Adams swapped in some different varsity players from last week for their shot at a hometown performance, including senior Scout Douglas and freshmen Gracie Thomson, Addi Thomson, and Sienna Goodrum.

Senior Addie HInshaw filled the #1 Singles slot and went 1-2 on the evening, beating her Chaparral opponent 8-5 and falling to previous State contenders from Sterling and Kingman.  Scout Douglas had a great day and took a second place medal home in the #2 Singles role, beating Chaparral and Kingman 8-4 and 8-2, respectively, and dropping her final match against Sterling 3-8.  This was her first varsity action during her high school career.

Junior Jordan Koehn partnered with freshman Sienna Goodrum for the #2 Doubles team, and the pair fought from behind to force a tie break and won 7-5 against their first opponent Chaparral.  The ladies followed with two more wins, beating Kingman 8-4 and Sterling 8-2 for a 1st place finish!

In their high school varsity debut, twins Gracie and Addi Thomson played #1 Doubles, and like Jordan and Sienna, finished the day undefeated!  The sisters faced Chaparral's #1 Doubles team and fought back from a 0-2 deficit to win their match 8-4, and dominated Sterling in their nightcap 8-2.

Congratulations, Lady Crusaders!
