Crusaders get first win, beating Clearwater 35-14

After last week's high scoring affair with Andale, it was time for Wellington to match up against the Clearwater Indians here at home on September 20th. This game featured a more balanced attack from the Crusaders with the team rushing the ball 20 times and passing 19 times. In the first quarter Nick Giefer got out to a fast start scoring a 10 yard touchdown to score the first touchdown of the game. Then the Crusaders had some fun and let the offensive lineman, Jamar Armstrong, get some shine with a 1 yard rushing touchdown to go up 14-0.

SCORE GALORE! Andale outlasts Wellington 56-48

The Andale Indians came to town on September 13th to take on the Crusaders who were coming off of a nail biter at Wichita Collegiate. It was certainly a battle of fire and ice, or I should say Wellington's pass game vs Andale's rushing attack in a high intensity, high scoring, back and forth battle. Dusty Bannister and his receivers were definitely the stars of the night for Wellington. Bannister threw for 480 yards and four touchdowns which breaks his own record for most passing yards in a game that he set last year with 473 yards at Rose Hill.

JV Tennis debuts at home

The JV Lady Crusaders are well into their tennis season (League is Oct. 3!), but this Monday was the first opportunity to play for a home crowd at 9th Street.

Senior Scout Douglas filled the #1 Singles slot and hustled her way to 1st place after her win percentage broke a three-way tie.  Freshman Madalynn Wonser also found herself in a three-way tie for 2nd place in #2 Singles, and her win percentage also declared her the winner of 2nd place.  Berkeley Easterberg, a freshman, also played singles for a pick-up team comprised of half Wellington-half Goddard-Eisenhower players.
