JV Football wins by 1 over Augusta on October 7

Wellington JV Football hosted the Augusta junior varsity squad on Monday night, October 7, and scored late in the game to win 7-6!

The wellington.cc camera was there for the first half (Ms. Ford was on teacher duty taking her turn with float-building supervision for the second half), and couple of yearbook cameras were there to capture the full game!

The Wellington Crusaders made the long trip to Altamont to take on the Labette County Grizzlies on September 27th. It was all Crusaders the whole way to a 43-6 blowout. The Big Red Passing Machine was still on all cylinders with Dusty Bannister throwing for three of his four touchdowns in the first two quarters, two to Carter Burnett and one to Grady Norris. The defense was active as well, allowing zero points and Grady Norris returning an interception for another touchdown in a 26-0 first half.

Crusaders get first win, beating Clearwater 35-14

After last week's high scoring affair with Andale, it was time for Wellington to match up against the Clearwater Indians here at home on September 20th. This game featured a more balanced attack from the Crusaders with the team rushing the ball 20 times and passing 19 times. In the first quarter Nick Giefer got out to a fast start scoring a 10 yard touchdown to score the first touchdown of the game. Then the Crusaders had some fun and let the offensive lineman, Jamar Armstrong, get some shine with a 1 yard rushing touchdown to go up 14-0.
