Throngs of people gathered downtown on Wednesday evening, March 8, to celebrate the Lady Crusaders' historic victory over Bishop Miege to earn WHS Girls Basketball its first state title in program history. The evening began with a parade and pep rally and concluded with a poster-signing event and screening of the championship game at the Regent Theater.
On March 8 WHS hosted the 4A State Powerlifting Meet, and for the second year in a row the Lady Crusaders bested every team present!
The Crusaders took 2nd in the Men's Division!
We had several Wellington athletes take a trip to the medals podium for their overall results, and many more Crusader medal in individual events! Be sure to check out the full results and pictures below!

WHS senior Kaleb Hamilton attended the KSHSAA All-Class State Piano Festival held at Wichita State University on February 22, and for all his hard work getting there, he returns with a "I" rating from the judges!
A neat thing happened at the beginning of this week! Senior Ralph Cornejo, who swam a state consideration time in the 100 Yrd Butterfly at AVCTL Division III/IV League last weekend, learned that his time was good enough to allow him to compete at 5-1A State Swimming starting today held at the Shawnee Mission Aquatic Center in Lenexa! (Diving preliminaries began yesterday)
